Aye Becket,
I concure to your article about the liberal elite in colleges.
I studied creative writting at Cleveland State, and the further
into the program I went, the less creative I became; sure they taught me
the craft, but the spontaneity and energy of life began to vanish from my
poetry. Everything began to become minimalistic, if I tried to write a
sophisticated piece; it was deemed a failure and used as an example of
poor technique by the cutthroats. Eventually after I graduated I stopped practicing my craft
because the energy of life was absent from my writting. In short, instead
teaching me how to tap the creativity, they taught technique which
eventually led to the destruction of creativity. I have spent the last
year not writing, but trying to get in touch with creativity and not
technique.
